Digital Entertainment

People like to be entertained.  That will not change any time soon.  So, what kind of options are there for home entertainment?  Well, I thought I would do a two-part piece on home entertainment.  I’m going to start with TVs and Monitors.  Then in the second part, I will talk about services.

TVs and monitors have come a long way in the past decade.  They are not only getting bigger, but the picture is getting cleaner and crisper.  So, you have to then look at what you will be using the TV and/or monitor for.  Will it be a dual purpose TV/Monitor?  Do you need a Smart TV?  How big, or small should it be?

Well, there is, of course, your over the top, theater room TV, like this:

Projector, RocketPRO 1080P Video Projector 30% Speed Up GP100.PRO with 1280x800p WXGA Resolution 120-inches Big Screen LED Efficiency over 30000 Hours with DVD/Fire TV/Laptop for Home Theater System

Which, for a projection TV, that’s not too bad a price.  But, take into consideration that you would need something to project it on to, like a projection screen, or a flat white wall.  As well, the bulbs can get expensive to replace.

There is also a basic large TV. This example is a top of the line, 85″ (Let’s break that down to the actual size, with the stand would be approximately 6 ft. 4 in. by 3 ft. 9 in, by 1 and a half feet.), 4K Ultra HD.:

Sony XBR85X900F 85-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2018 Model)

That’s a little rich for me, but I also do not have room for a TV that big.

But I do like the Smart TV option because it gives more flexibility.  It allows for some of the services I will be talking about in my next post.  So, I like this option myself:

TCL 32S305 32-Inch 720p Roku Smart LED TV (2017 Model)
This TCL TV can also be used with my computer as a monitor and is preset to work with multiple entertainment services.  Looks like a winning combination to me.

Next, services…..
